    NorthTalent Tournament & League Rules

    1. Match Formats

      • Standard NorthTalent SnD (Search & Destroy) matches are either best-of-3 (first to 2 map wins) or best-of-5 (first to 3 map wins).

      • Maps and modes are randomized by the platform; any verbal side-agreements to change maps are invalid—every round must use the assigned map/mode.

    2. Bomb Placement

      • Planting or defusing the bomb on or through objects (fences, ledges, props) is strictly prohibited.

      • Violation results in an immediate forfeit of that map.

    3. Seeding

      • Teams are seeded by their collective SnD Points when registration closes.

      • Lower numerical seed = higher placement (Seed 1 > Seed 2 > Seed 3, etc.).

      • Seeds advance through the bracket: e.g. Seed 1 vs Seed 2 meet in finals if they win semifinals.

    4. Hosting & Sides

      • All matches run in private/custom lobbies.

      • Non-hosting team selects their starting side.

      • Host must verify all lobby settings before launching; incorrect settings incur a forfeit of that map.

    5. Delay Between Rounds

      • Teams have up to 5 minutes between maps/rounds to switch sides, change equipment, or adjust settings.

      • Exceeding this window results in a map forfeit.

    6. Lag Test

      • Optional unless requested by the non-host team.

      • Uses a non-tournament map; doesn’t count toward the match.

      • If lag persists, a new host must be chosen or staff will intervene to assign a neutral host.

    7. Activision ID

      • Each player’s Activision ID must be on their NorthTalent profile, findable and invitable in-game.

      • Failure to add or use a valid ID risks forfeiture.

    8. Platform Rules

      • Console = Xbox & PlayStation (allowed when “Console” is selected).

      • PC players may only join “PC” or “Cross-Play” lobbies; joining on console-only settings forfeits that map.

    9. Fewer Players

      • Teams may start 1 player down (e.g. 3v4 in a 4v4 match).

      • Starting more than one player short is not allowed (except in 1v1 formats) and will forfeit the map.

    10. Team Switching & Spectator Mode

      • In-game team-switching is prohibited; map restarts if it occurs.

      • Using spectator or caster modes (e.g. CODcaster) is not allowed; doing so forfeits the map.

    11. Input Types

      • Only the pre-selected input options (Controller, KB+M) may be used.

      • Any unapproved input method leads to a map forfeit.

    12. Lag Issues & Proof

      • If lag affects gameplay, finish the map, then submit a ticket with video proof (showing ping bars and round results).

      • Staff will review and decide on map replay or outcome adjustments.

    13. Restricted Items

      • Equipping restricted items is allowed, but using them to gain an advantage forfeits the map.

      • Opponents must prove usage in their protest.

    14. Unknown Player Interference

      • Players should appear “offline” during matches to avoid random joiners.

      • If outsiders join, politely ask them to leave; if they disrupt play, pause and record the score, then resume once the lobby is clear.

    15. Cheating & Streaming

      • NorthTalent enforces a zero-tolerance policy on hacking and cheating.

      • Streaming Requirement (PC only): Live stream matches via display or game capture with both game and voice audio.

      • VODs: Must enable “Save past broadcasts” and retain for 72 hours post-match.

      • Failure to comply with streaming or VOD rules may result in match forfeiture.

    16. Proof & Hacking Claims

      • Teams alleging hacking must provide clear evidence in their protest.

      • Proven offenders face permanent bans; teammates may also incur penalties.

    17. Playoff & Bracket Formats

      • League Playoffs:

        • Double elimination, best-of-5 throughout (including two grand-final matches, best-of-5 each).

        • Qualification:

          • 1 group → top 8 teams

          • 2 groups → top 4 per group

          • 4 groups → top 2 per group

        • XP Rewards: 1st = 750 XP, 2nd = 350 XP, 3rd = 125 XP (per player).

      • Tournaments:

        • Single elimination, best-of-3.

        • Bracket sizes: 4, 8, 16.

        • XP Rewards: 1st = 150 XP, 2nd = 50 XP (per player).

        • Seeding by SnD Points (higher points = higher seed).
